My love of the written word started as a young kid who thought Philip Pullman was more of a celebrity than anyone on T.V. (and I was lucky enough to get my Golden Compass books signed by him when I was in middle school!).

As a communications and marketing professional I have nearly a decade of experience with proofreading and copy editing, though my origins of taking red pen to paper actually extend back to 2003 when I started my college job as a writing tutor. I love working out the puzzle of how to bring clarity and a professional look to a project. The perfectionist in me needs it to be as polished as it can be.

Some quick facts about me:

1. Hometown: Madison, Wisconsin.

2. Favorite book: Sabriel by Garth Nix. It’s dark and beautiful and I have read it over and over again since 1998.

3. Favorite place to travel to: The bluffs and valleys of the Driftless Region. This underrated/unexpected region of southwest Wisconsin (and parts of Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois) takes my breath away every time I visit.

I currently live in Owatonna, Minnesota with my husband and two little girls. We love to spend the warm months of the year growing vegetables and flowers (and watching the monarchs visit!) in our sizeable garden.
